about jack

Carbon Copy is run by Jack Mills, and is based in London, England.

After graduating in Russian and French, including a translation post in France and study at a Russian college, I taught English for two years in Moscow and Prague. I returned to England to study an MA in Translation from Russian and French to English, and at the same time began proofreading English academic texts and interpreting from Russian to English locally, as well as travelling extensively to Spain.

Following my MA I moved to London where I project managed for a localization company, continued proofreading independently and began translating voluntarily for charities, all the while enjoying life in one of London’s cultural and linguistic melting pots, Brixton, interspersed with occasional escapes to work on ecological projects.

As a full-time freelance translator I work from home in London, unless I am away travelling in Europe or Asia. Otherwise, I enjoy organic gardening, ecological building, yoga, zazen, herbalism, and European/world music and cinema.
